Re: Dunkirk 70 years on
Been a bit busy for the last week. Seems like we are by and large in agreement now, I don't really have any issues with your judgements in your last post even if I don't see it exactly the same way. That's just history, someone says something, someone disagrees and it just goes on and on until both ...

Get them, although i'm concerned as to her appearance considering that story.. Either invisible or wishes she was probably. Would you not attribute the Soviet army being designed that way due mainly to incompetance and bad planning? I'm not a military history fanatic (why study the tools of history...

Re: Dunkirk 70 years on
I'll try to make this concise and easier to read, so will leave out the quotes but still answer your points. You are right that Britain did the same to the French fleet. It was essential to convince the Americans that we were up for a fight, which is also the most significant outcome of the Battle o...

Re: Dunkirk 70 years on
Yeah this is getting a bit much. I'm enjoying it and I expect Calix finds it satisfying to have someone to bounce some indepth historical views off, and he has clearly spent a good amount of time reading and thinking on the subject.
Need to start making this more concise though!

Re: Dunkirk 70 years on
I nearly laughed and cried when looking at one of my old essays. This almost sounds like I would have been agreeing with you, but I think it still keeps my most of my current argument in tact as I have been saying that although Hitler might have wanted alliance with Britain, it wasn't realistic or p...

Re: Dunkirk 70 years on
If you examine each prewar crisis in turn, The Rhineland, Anschluss, Munich, Polish Corridor, every move the Nazi's make(with the exception of the occupation of Bohemia and Moravia) is designed to keep the British onside. I'd need to quote almost the entire first half of the Buchanan book in eviden...

I think that's debatable. How many non-whites do you figure have been spat on due to racial incitement from the NF and all of its offspring organisations?Villa wrote:Why?

*err shit, I edited your post rather than replied:/* - Clx By make peace I think you mean surrender to all of Germany's demands, make huge concessions that would have dwarfed the Treaty of Versailles, and then basically do whatever Berlin commanded in areas of foreign policy. That's not even close ...

Re: The "OMGoolies it's an election" Thread
Part of me thinks anyone who gobs on someone like that deserves a beating. But, if you can't spit at openly racist political candidates, you can't spit at anyone. The BNP are a legitimate political party. Spitting at their candidate is a legal offence, no matter how much of a cunt he might be. I ag...

Re: welcome to the jungle man
How can you get banned from xbox live?? The language, not to mention clan tags, that goes around on that is just ridiculous. One of my mates has a gamertag called 'alahakbarmafuka' yet he's played for like 5 days of gameplay. Oh, and the ELR forum just never went anywhere after UO finished. I think ...
