You can enhance crafted items, but only ones crafted with normal wood, plain leather or iron ingots. For this to work you would need to be able to enhance crafted items. I agree you need to ditch the gems idea. If possible - crafting with normal leather, iron ingots makes you stuff with less propert...

While I wouldn't suggest a teleporter to every spawn having teleports to maybe half the spawns or nearby if placed well could create some invader / defender choke points. One of the reasons EEV chose Deceit to 'own' was that we could create a choke point on the tele down from BK room, hardly anyone ...

Intensity % on properties can be tweaked to ensure that uber suits are not too common but also not unachievable with a reasonable amount of work. For example when crafting in the current system I will make literally hundreds of the piece I am crafting to get exactly the right spread of resists after...
