Forensic Eval currently identifies a killer when used on a player corpse.*Using Forensic Evaluation on a corpse will reveal the name of the killer and of those who looted the corpse.
*Using Forensic Evaluation on a player will reveal their affiliation with the Thieves Guild.
*Using Forensic Evaluation on a lockable chest will reveal who has recently picked the lock of that container.
Why not offer an offer an additional an actual bonus for having this skill? Without actually expanding the skill massively, I would propose the following changes.
The figures can be debated but hopefully it can breathe some life into a redundant skill. It will actually be useful without being massively overpowering, similar idea to Inscription pretty much but useable by dexers or mages.*Using Forensic Evaluation on a corpse will reveal the name of the killer and of those who looted the corpse. If magery => 100 then the player receives a 15% SDI bonus against the killer, alternatively 30% Damage increase if Weapon skill+Tactics => 200
*Using Forensic Evaluation on a player will reveal their affiliation with the Thieves Guild. I was thinking something along the lines of, if you identify a thief make all items 20% harder to steal?
*Using Forensic Evaluation on a lockable chest will reveal who has recently picked the lock of that container.Increased chance of finding Minor artifact by 5%, Major by 1%??
