On Monday my last class was a senior high school class.
I usually enjoy the class. The kids are intelligent and can communicate pretty well, albeit in broken English. Age is 15-18.
The class went well and they enjoyed it a lot.
For the class I usually put two tables together and we just sit around chatting, I find things go better if we are all sitting around a table like equals rather than me standing at the front of the class.
So anyway, I was putting one of the tables back to its original position when one of the girls (the cutest one, in a non paedo way) yells something out in Japanese, which I half understood.
It was something like "really nice smell!".
I was a bit puzzled and looked at her and she said in Japanese "You smell REALLY nice!".
I was pretty shocked but by this time the other girls had surrounded me and were all sniffing me, and then doing the typical Japanese squeal/swoon and saying "WOW ITS SUCH A NICE SMELL!".
It was time for them to leave and we were a bit late so one of the Japanese teachers came into the room, and saw all the girls crowded around me. I felt that she deserved some explanation so I said "they say I smell nice...". She asked them "does he?" and they said "Yeah, so much..." so she also came over and had a sniff. She agreed and there was about another minute of sniffing and general appreciation of my awesomeness.
So yeah basically one dream achieved.
I'll be buying that deodorant again.
On the train home with the other teachers the female teacher sniffed me two more times, and said "you know.. you really DO smell nice.."
Just lol.

I've pimped out my apartment quite a bit. The girl with the litre cans of beer went to study abroad, so I got a nice sized fridge from her instead of a pathetic small box, and lots of other useful stuff.
I'm planning to study here next year, doing visa shit now which is a ball ache but oh well.
I went shopping with a friend a few weeks ago and bought loads of funky stuff.
I won't describe it in detail but fatal/KT would probably think it looks really cool, which gives you an idea of how gay it is.
Also, i've started wearing sunglasses even at night. Not all the time but.. i look fucking hot in them. It's perfectly acceptable to do in Japan, although apparently I look like a host. But to be honest it deflects some of the stares from everyday people who still get the "OMG ITS A ROUND EYE" kind of feeling. If i'm dressed in japanese style fashion, with sunglasses, I look half japanese, which isn't so interesting.
Going skii'ing this winter with one of the schools i work for. They're going to pay me to go skiiing. Lol. About £470 for 4 days.
I didn't even have to scam them or anything.
On the woman front things are the same as before. It's actually tiring, having to deal with lots of female friends all competing for my time.
Looking at my schedule, I have one girl coming over on friday night, going out to dinner with a student on saturday night (more on her below) and going on a trip to Kyoto to look at RED LEAVES on sunday with another student and her friend.
I had interesting lesson with the first student today. She speaks pretty awesome English and i can talk to her as if she were a native speaker, on any topic. Somehow our conversation went from the normal to religion and ended up talking about casual sex.
This student is actually another teacher at the kids school i work at. I wasn't uncomfortable talking about it but it kind of made me think "wtf?!".
At the end of our lesson and our talk about having sex with people you like, or even just sharing a bed and being close with them, she asked me what i'm doing this weekend, and do i want to go out for dinner.

I had a busy weekend full of activity.
If you refer to my last post, I said that I was going to have dinner with a student/co-worker.
We had dinner and chatted and then went for some drinks. All normal and stuff, although we did drink quite a lot and lots of flirting and whatnot. She missed her train but said she could take a taxi home, (she lives quite far), so said she could stay at mine if she wanted.
Pretty lol thing, when we came to my house and i opened my door, a note fell out. It was from the 28 yr old mentioned above, who had just "dropped" by.
Which is really weird. In Japan no-one drops by. Especially when I already told her I would be out.
She is now filed under "stalker".
Anyway i didn't do anything too heavy with student/colleague because it would complicate work and stuff but just snuggled and kissed a bit. And stuff. I must say it's the first time i've seen nipples as large as hers. The actual nipple part was really large in diameter, but not so much in length. Anyway...
Yesterday I went to look at leaves and stuff in Kyoto.
Kyoto was in the past the capital, and it's a city which is famous for its many temples.
I went with another student and her friend, and we had a nice time chatting away while walking around. Took shitloads of pictures, not because I particularly like leaves but because it was difficult to get the shot I wanted, so transformed into a man possessed, until i could get a decent shot.
Overall it was very fun, but I wont bore you with cultural stories, i know it holds no interest for you philistines.
I spoke shitloads of Japanese, although both the girls speak good English, they always default to Japanese, so it's good practice.
Got back to my city at around 8ish and went to meet another friend, who had arranged a party.
I must say that when Japanese person says party it just means going out. So they might ask "are you going to a party this weekend?" they mean an event at a club. Or just going to a meal or something.
There are several types of "party" which have specific intentions. "Goukon" means a Joint party、but generally is a party arranged by two friends, a girl and a boy. The girl will bring girls and the boy brings boys, always an equal number, and the aim is to find someone you like. Usually all are single but sometimes people with boyfriends/girlfriends attend, although it's generally considered rude, because it's kind of misleading.
Then there is a "Conpa", which is kind of like a Goukon but not so formal.
Last night was just "Futsuu", which just means regular/normal. But still, there will usually be an equal or close to ratio of girls to boys. Which is kind of awesome.
Anyway, I got there late but NP. My friend had told me that none of them spoke any English, and I think they were wary of meeting me, because when I came in and said hello etc in the usual formal way, they just responded normally.
I must explain that ofc Japanese is a bit weird. But basically when you meet someone you something which roughly translates as "This is the first time we're meeting (nice to meet you), please take care/be kind to me".
It's kind of a text book phrase, like nice to meet you. So it's not unusual for a foreigner to say this.
But when I said my name, I said it in the very normal and relaxed way, not a textbook way. Basically "is Jamie" instead of saying "My name is Jamie" or "I am Jamie". They all laughed and said they were relieved I could speak Japanese. FUCK TEXTBOOKS, FREESTYLE FTW.
Had a great time chatting away about various things. It was a good atmosphere and everyone had a lot of fun.
My friend always invites me to these parties, at least once every other week. I made a joke that he never invites me to the Goukon or Conpa but always invites me to Futsuu party. It's because I'm too strong a rival to take to a Goukon or Conpa. But he invites me to Futsuu because he knows I can make everyone relaxed and have a good time, and therefore giving him more openings. I'm like the wind that fans his Futsuu flame, but blows out his Goukon/Conpa fire.
Now, I admit I said it like a retard, a lot of verbs I used were not the right ones, and there was heavy gesturing, but it was understood perfectly.
I said a bit about this in IRC, but i'm loving talking Japanese. It makes me feel really satisfied to have conversations and understand wtf people are saying. When I speak I often speak like a retard but they can piece together what I mean, i get a great sense of accomplishment.
People are surprised at the length of time that I've lived in Japan, because there are plenty of foreigners who live here for fucking years and can't speak for shit.
After the party finished we started to head to the station. The guys were kind of anxious because the last train would be coming soon, and they live far away.
I live in the city so I said that I wasn't worried because a taxi home wasn't too expensive. When I said that the girls asked me to come to another Izakaya to carry on drinking. Which I did.
Which tbh was a bit scary because before I had my friend who could speak English and prompt me if i needed it, but I would be alone with 3 girls who all spoke as much English as the average English person speaks french (HOLA!).
But it was ok. There was much drinking and talking. They said that I could chose the conversation so that I would be able to understand, so I said talking about sex would be best, so that's what we started with. But conversation moved on (sadly) to other subjects, like racism, prejudice towards foreigners, history and the future.
OFC it wasn't all deep talk and i'm happy to say there was lots of the usual stuff like teaching them the names of sexual positions, talking about past experiences etc, but generally it was just like being back home in that we followed the road the conversation lead down.
I'll see those girls again I'm sure.
