My new cars

Post by Zim Zum »

By coincidence both the new cars I had on order turned up at the same time. On Friday I picked up an Audi TT coupé with the new 2.0tdi engine. It's got the RS4 wheels on it and it's a beauty! The engine is even better than I was hoping, when you fire her up she warbles like a petrol TT. In normal driving it's very smooth and quiet. The in gear acceleration of the diesel is as quick as the 3.2 petrol as well, but unlike the petrol you get 55mpg as opposed to 22.

Inside it's very nice and spacious with a typically high quality Audi cabin, much nicer than the BMW I just got rid of. The rear seats fold flat to give a very big boot. I just picked my brother up from the airport and easily got his suitcase and golf clubs in it. It has an ipod connection, aux connection, twin SD card slots for MP3s, heated leather seats and DVD sat nav.

The Fiat 500 I got on Saturday and I got it for using as my daily work car. I do a lot of mileage so it's suicide to put high miles on a more costly motor, you end up with massive depreciation. Much better to put the mileage on a cheaper vehicle.

This is the diesel 500 and does 70mpg and I'm very happy with how it looks. It has tinted windows and the 16" sports wheels, which combined with the Italian stripe make it look a bit more sporty and less girly. Inside the interior looks awesome, it has red leather and easily seats 4 with a bit of luggage room. Very impressive is the Microsoft made Blue & Me system which is a combination of voice and steering wheel controlled bluetooth for the phone and USB connection for Ipods, USB sticks, Zunes etc. Unlike most Ipod connections I've tried in cars, this one actually operates like an Ipod and you can choose music by artist, genre or playlist.

It also has automatic climate control, split folding rear seats, MP3 CD player and thus far seems to be a complete babe magnet. It drives surprisingly well too, the Italians make excellent small diesels,a nd it's smooth and quiet which I wasn't expecting, it's also a lot more spacious than it looks.

The Audi looks fucking sexy. The Fiat looks a little bit like an 80's Yugo with added hair straighteners.

How much more expensive is that new Audi, r4 or whatever than the TT?

Dude, instead of those optional extras, perhaps you should have bought some number plates? :(

Nice cars, although the steering wheel appears to be on the passengers side for some reason.

The new TT is a great car and I'm impressed with the 500 too thats a future classic fo sho! I lost my place in the R8 queue due to bad cash management and stupid gambling in casinos :(
