if you want to listen to some good rock music try deftones/biffy clyro/muse/my vitriol/reuben/coheed & cambria/the bronx

you'll like 65daysofstatic judging by your feedback so far, its 'post industrial math rock' which basically means instrumental progressive dance/rock I guess.

Stars are an amazing band, chilled out, great voices and really easy listening

The strokes are worth a mention, quite catchy shit, get Is This It album

Team Sleep (deftones frontman's side band) and Tool are both also amazing.

Daft Punk need no introduction.

Zero7 are a cool chilled band. As are The Shins. Infact if you have to listen to anything make it New Slang by The Shins, in the words of Natalie portman, it will change your life forever. That goes for everyone, the song gives me a semi.

Sigur ros are outstanding, if a little weird. They sing in thier own made up language but it's amazingly catchy, check out the tune Hoppipolla, which is pretty famous and used in loads of films etc.

Royksopp are quite chilled/groovy. As are The Postal Service

Everyone needs to have 2 radiohead albums - Ok Computer (has best song in the world ever on it-Paranoid Android) and also My Iron Lung.

The Arcade Fire and A Perfect Circle are 2 more of my favourites, the former are unbelievable and have quite a unique sound I think, as for APC, try the Mer De Noms or Emotive albums.

If you want some romancing music, check out City and Colour, women get wet at the sound of Dallas Green's voice. He's also in Alexisonfire who are a great hardcore/metal/screamo band.

Boy Kill Boy's new album is alright but imo Civilian is better. check out tracks Civil Sin/On and On/Pen & Ink

Bjork's new album Volta is awesome, Ben folds is a Genius and Motion City Soundtrack have a really catchy happy feel for a rock band.

That should keep you busy for a while

Seconded, would advocate the recommendations of Stars and Sigur Ros in particular.

Have my Vitriol done another album since the one they released about 9 years ago? Not heard from them for ages.

haha, i dont listen to like any of the scooter shit etc. i like alot of the "album tracks" which are remix classics of big ibiza hits, and the stuff from lesser known electrodance djs.

an example being something like a remix of sash's encore une fois
