Just thought I'd let you know.
uo didn't die, we got a new expansion, and a damn good one too. UO.Stratics has a new managing editor who actually does something on the site and all is good with the Fydes.

oh, P.S.
We miss seeing and chatting with you on irc :(

Hi, have they changed the graphics, the UI/interface or done anything else to bring UO into the 21st century?
Are there many people left in the game?

There is a new client, though you're not forced to use it. The graphics are different, not enough of a change for some, and too much for others. The interface is pretty darn good though.
The client is a free download and can be used for any content, the expansion you have to buy a code to access.
Biggest new skill in it is 'imbuing' which lets you 'customize' items within parameters. Once imbued though you can't use powder of fortification on it, so it will eventually wear out.

Read a few threads on the two boards specifically for the client and the expansion for a better idea, but avoid UHall, that's full of the 'I haven't tried it cos I quit years ago but I know it sucks' mob.
Enhanced Client board Read just the top couple of stickies to get some idea of the capabilities.

Hello!

Good of you to keep us updated, and even tho i can be wrong, I think all of us has quit UO forever now finally. A few of us had it in our system and was bound to return over and over, but im pretty sure we've got rid of the once so strong addiction :)

I think it's been at least a year since Nixon last played, so I'm fairly confident we are all out for good now.

I think I proved to be a worse addict than Nixon, and it's got to be 18 months-ish for me..
