Nettop vs PS3
I'm on the brink of purchasing this nettop pc -

This one is the dog's bollox basically - dual core atom processor with nvidia ION for graphics stuffz. Was going to use it for blu rays, streaming and other stuffz that I used to use my (now banned) xbox for, with the added advantage that I can browse the internet from a sofa in front of my large screen TV (rather than crammed in front of a PC monitor, using headphones and sat on an office chair).
This thing will cost about £330 or so.
HOWEVER, I'm wondering if a new PS3 would do the job equally well for less money.
Does anyone here use their PS3 for streaming and browsing the web?
Need comments on how good/bad it performs - can you use a wireless keyboard?
Not really bothered about games (though the net top can probably handle some new games with the settings turned down); more interested in streaming, browsing the web and watching blu rays.

I've got a PS3 but never used the browser, bluetooth wireless keyboards will work though.
As a blu-ray player it will be far better than that computer and a lot more user friendly to pay movies with.

theres a new movie thingy on PS3 AFAIK that lets you stream movies very good. Seen people use the browser, and while its not optimal it works out rather good. Only gay thing about it as i remember is scrolling and shit as the web pages dont exactly fit a run of the mill tv screeen.
Id say if your going to use it with your tv a ps3 will beat a shitty NETLOL 99% of the times

Can you use a USB keyboard in a PS3? (Worst case scenario)Zim Zum wrote:I've got a PS3 but never used the browser, bluetooth wireless keyboards will work though.

Also, I hear you can play .mkv (hi def) movie files without the need to convert them - is this true?
