Would you play again? (talk of classic shard done properly )

Post by Poom_of_PALADIN »

Seems to be a lot of talk on Stratics about a classic shard hosted by EA,

this was in a developer chat

"Nightcrawler - Is the possibility of a classic shard under consideration? If so, what
time period would it be geared towards?
Mythic_Uriah - The classic shard is under consideration, As stated in the letter earlier this year we would have an answer before the end of the year, There is no other update to its status"

the main thread of what people agree 'classic uo' is

http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=190295

discussion thread here : http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread. ... ssic+shard

sounds interesting to me.. the important thing would just be the activeness , we can all play UO for free in EL CLASSICO mode on free shards, but the problem is that there are never many people playing so it's never fun

I wonder if enough people would come back or start to play UO if they did do this

I think i'd give it a go, unfortunately as im not in student days it would be about 4-5 hours a week max but i reckon it could still be fun, i have played some classic free shards and would love to play the old game on 'real servers'

I would, depending on era. I'm pretty sure most people here would even if they won't admit it now...

but yeah, limited playtime for me.

Pretty much depends on who else would play. We played secondage for a while but in the end there was only really 2 of us playing a lot, so we lost interest. To be honest though, I'd return to current shard if everyone else did. Addict for life I'm afraid.

The main reason we never really got 'into' free shards was actually because of a lack of other people on the shard - most free shards are just too quiet for it to really be as enjoyable as it was.

If they made a classic shard with decent ruleset (not some shit one which is probably most likely) then I'm sure a lot of us would play.

I would absolutely play, infact if it really takes off I would be really keen to get some kind of alliance (lol zerg noob) of old EU/DF rivals together for old times sake. That would be really good fun.

Ignore Villa, he's just upset because he isn't getting laid, and none of us like him anymore.
