Not sure how this works; does it wait for everyone to finish their week before it allows everyone to move forward a week at a time or something?

It's impossible to be too hardcore Merc, relies on people being on to play. So you have your normal single player game running, and when there's a few of you online, you all login network game, play for a few hours, then maybe don't play again for a few days. Season will last a cpl months, basically. It worked well last time me/cyric/nix did it with Serie B. So I'd say something like that, relatively major league, second or third division. There's no point doing conference or whatever because we'd not get anywhere far before the new version released.

Championship would probably be the best league in terms of fairness etc? I'd be up for it but time would be the main problem for me :/

I'd leave it running perma on my second PC, people could login, do their shit, hit continue, go away, wait for the rest. Obviously that way it means we can't always be attended at our games, but that's the only way to do it, I think.
