Well I personally think all other mmorpgs are gay, designed for the kind of massmarket idiots that ensure all new releases are everquest/wow clone pieces of shit. UO was just something special, i'm not going to play any other game that takes over like that ever again, learnt my lesson with a month of SB and 3 hours of WoW.

UO was a great game, but as we've said before, it just had the perfect mix of things that wouldn't be recreated probably even if they remade a classic shard, becouse the random idiots/trammelites/newbies that made UO so much fun wouldn't play again. So many better games for them now.

Also i'll add that isometric view makes for a better strategic/group pvp game, when you can see what's going on all around you it's much easier to make team based decisions than in first person games when all you can see is what's directly in front of you. Besides UO's graphics still look pretty good IMO if you take out the neon shit, beetles etc and all the samurai onwards stuff.

So basically, for those of us that want old UO back, we need to destroy all other mmopgs and make sure no more are ever released, and also take control of the code from EA and run a cluster of era shards, a t2a shard, a p15 shard and a p25 shard....np, lets do it tomorrow.

yeah that's spot on, though obviously there were more than just newbs making the game fun. I think there was a point in aos where europa just had the perfect amount and size of guilds with so many characters in them that you couldn't help but enjoy it, even with a faulty pvp system. Although I couldn't pvp very well it was still fun to be a part of it at the time, and to be involved in the many wars/alliances that every faction and guild had.

Yeah couldn't agree more, EU was fucking cool at that time, before FC4 shit made most of the fun people quit. Drach was more fun, but maybe that's due more to better ruleset/us getting better as a team than the stuff I percieve it to be.
