Now that i've had a chance to play some of it....
I've found WAR very very slow and boring, and the pvp just takes too long. I won't be playing it on release.
It's pretty eye candy. But once your over the 'oooo' of first playing it's got nothing to it.

tasos the dev posted last friday saying in a week or shortly after. they had previously promised it in august, so its widely expected for friday.

Talking about DF, are we signed up for that guildbeta thingy (that most likely won't ever start)? Would be nice if it ever came out, though i'm rather doubtful. A new SB perhaps?
As for WAR I'll probably try it, though my gfx card burnt the other day (one month after the warranty ended) and its gonna cost me 1100:- euroes to get a new one (macbook pro, fuck apple
). So atm i'm computerless.

beta wont be anything to get excited about. they already said it'll be a really short one. i dont imagine they'll go ahead with their clan beta plans because of time. they said before their target was a release within 2008, and the last 2 updates said they're still on target.

Yeah, well, clan beta could still mean an invitation for that short open (?) beta which would be good. I recon theres a rather good chance of this game failing, so trying before buying would be nice.
As for WAR it seems like it could be good fun for at least a few months. Anyone tried it yet?
