I can see the POV that it's purely a religious thing, but personally I see it as a gesture of commitment more than anything. Especially when you can chose who you marry.

i think villa was asking about same-sex marriage ?

divorce is far more popular than marriage anyway .. and a lot more expensive :?

just on the religion thing .. ho ho .. let's nuke all religions everywhere (could anything be more corrupt) and establish the Internet as the new religion ... marriage in the future will be like facebook ..

click .... marriied again (lol too many stella's)

click ... divorced (right .. who's next)

Oh I dunno. I am very anti-religion generally and extremely anti-christian specifically and I plan on getting married. Its more a commitment thing tho and because i'm a bit soppy tbh. Won't be anywhere near a bloody church tho. Why do people keep dragging religion into marriage anyway? Its only a religious ceremony if individuals choose it to be. Hell, as a concept it pre-dates most of todays religions.

Had a big argument with a cretin in my work recently who was ranting about gays getting married and that it should be illegal because "god doesnt like queers". Trying to hammer the concept that marriage isnt a christian invention through his thick neolithic skull was a serious chore.

Religious ceremonies used to involve references to a deity until modern liberal atheists and agnostics ruined that too.

In my opinion villa (not like it matters), in a way marriage has nothing to do with religion. I think alot of people see it more as the commitment to each other and do it for certain reassurence ect ect.
