Agreed, my solution is to play with a new group of people so those problems don`t arise so readily. If you get what i mean!

UO went the same way after AoS ofc, we only finally caught up item wise during the time a load of us weren't working and could stay up all night doing harrowers etc. For competitive people with limited playtime I don't see how WoW etc are even options becouse to be competitive in the game it has to be your life.
YOU SPEAK TRUTH

Man wow sounds so boring when I hear about refining a tactic for pvm. :D

Guildwars rules anyway, takes no time to get the stuff you need and you can pvp fairly at any time. You also dont feel obliged to play every day since you dont pay for it.

Personally even if I did have all day again, none of the current games really sound like an enjoyable time investment. 'Spose that's where UO champ spawn system was genius, it made PvM bearable if not enjoyable to pretty much everyone.
I just don't think I could ever play another mmorpg after UO, for the exact reason you mention. I just cant face the investment of time they all require. I spent a scarily large part of my late teens and early twenties playing UO, and although I won't say i regret it all, it was too much time really. Stuff like WoW sounds far far worse as to be good you have to end all other aspects of your life. I can't help but think of Alderis who was a semi-decent bloke if slightly weird, who was turned into a complete anti-social guild avoiding long streak of certain something, the only thing that mattered to him after WoW came out was WoW.

Im glad I got my Xbox because I can get my online fixes playing stuff like Perfect Dark and Burnout which dont need any investment of time, you just pick up and play. I never enjoyed online games on the PC witht he exception of RPGs, but arcade style online gaming seems to suit consoles so much more.

So I can safely say there will be no more mmorpgs for me, and that will be the truth. Unlike the other losers in my guild, I am the only person who said he wouldn't play WoW and who actually didn't, and neither did I try DAOC, guildwars or any other toss juice. I just wish the homos would play some AOE2.

Although if UO (old school hello) came around again with all my old chums playing it and the stability that it once had, i would jump at the chance to play it, though my time would be limited.

Still, bring on Stargate Worlds MMORPG. Thats a game i can look forward to, until then, ill do the same as Zim, 360 + X Box live or CS Source to have my online fix.
