what is so special about that watch that you would pay so much for it? i mean.. my watch cost a fiver and it tells the correct time..

its like cars, I could go and buy a skoda and it would drive me to my destination effciently enough or I could take my porsche and get to the same destination - arguably the same outcome, although the journies would be very different!
same goes for watches, one tells the time as well as the next but I prefer quality and craftmanship, morever its a decent investment and much better than spending £500 down the pub on a friday night, mind you I would have to spend a week in the pub doing that to justify my watch.
I can see why some people find it silly though

for that much money i'll give you my phone number and when you need to know what time it is phone me and i'll get my good looking gay sounding housemate to tell you the time.. how does that sound for an investment?
