GOAL!!!! Aldershot 1 - 0 Carlisle

Live commentary is quality on BBC radio Cumbria. I remember listening to the Barnet match at Carlisle on there, you couldn't actually tell that we scored when we did because the commentators didn't even mention it until a minute after it was in the net! It's a little bit less bias this time around though I must admit...

I really hope you didn't travel up to Carlisle Merc m8! That has got to be one of the worst trip home, ever, if you did! For those of you who don't know, Aldershot were losing 2-0 away at Carlisle in the second leg before scoring a 95th minute equaliser (ultra high for Aldershot fans)

This took the game into extra time, and then ultimately onto penalties. Aldershot and Carlisle scored their first, however, Aldershot then went 3-1 up in penalties but missed the next one and Carlisle leveled it to 3-3. The Sudden death pens came in and Aldershot went out 4-5 in the end. Now considering that is a three hour trip and the wide range of emotions they must have been feeling, really hope you didn't go Merc!!!

And ahaha, reading celtic fan sites, absolute comedy, the rl tears is great, cruel way to lose the title, 2minutes from the end of the season, but rofls ^^

was a great football season up here again (win or lose top and bottom went to the last day again). May not have the best league in the world, but its entertaining :D

roll on next season!

Hmm, as it stands, no. However, one day its almost inevitible.

5-10 years ago, Aberdeen were as close as Celtic in terms of challenging for the league. Aberdeen had a major crisis, and should have been relegated but were saved by fucked up rules, since then theres been no team really close to Rangers or Celtic. Hearts were probably closest.

Hearts now have the financial backing to strengthen their squad, they have a good stadium, fantastic youth setup, unfortunatly the new board that have taken over have already proved they are a bunch of wankers, forcing the manager out the club who'd only been there 6 months and was a hearts supporter through and through.

As it stands Celtic are the only team with cash to burn atm, Rangers are still in huge debt.

If any team is going to come close, now is the best time. Rangers are just finishing their transitional period under Alex McLeish, and Celtic are at the end of an era, especially if O'Neil quits. Inverness have already proved that almost anything is possible even without huge sums of money

That being said, the Scottish league is similar to a lot of European leagues. Our main divison is smaller than most, so we only have 2 winners, but for example, the english league is almost twice the size and generally the top 4 is the same (Chelsea stepping into this position now)

Of course its all down to rule changes as well, would be interesting to see what would happen if they had to play with more Scottish or u21 players than they already do. Would make the league superb - all be it a bit boring without the foreign flair^^

None the less, 1st or 2nd as you say has been a battle between rangers or celtic, for us that's what matters. For every other club, the 3rd place Uefa cup spot is the 1st place of everyone elses league.

I don't want Rangers and Celtic in England though.

FU Nix for ignoring my post.

And O'Neil has quit, Larsson obviously is gone, Balde is leaving. Many think Stan Petrov is poised for a big money move (Inter and Barca have had scouts at the recent games) so its over.

Gordan Strachan has been announced as the new Celtic manager after ther Cup Final, expect a re-make of the team, with a much stronger defense.

Expect them to PROPERLY charge in Europe soon.

O'Neil hasn't quit yet, while it seems as almost formiddible outcome, it's not happened, and their is talk of a new manager type figuire taking over and O'Neil just taking a year out. Don't believe everything you read in News of the World ><

As for Strachan being Celtic manager. Absolutle comedy. The Celtic fan's hated him with a passion, and as a player their was often fears for his safety when he was playing at Parkhead. If he was to become manager, it would most certainly be interesting. Anything he has done so far, hasn't really prepared him for a club like Celtic. He was linked with Rangers a few seasons ago^^ Although that said, some of the Celtic faithful are prepared to welcome him

Celtic are set to lose a lot of first team players, and if O'Neil goes, I could see more leaving. Lennon, Douglas, Balde, and Bellemy will almost certainly end up in the English Premiership, especially if O'Neil goes. O'Neil wants money availible for transfers, Celtics board have a history of not releasing money when needed - that maybe the final push for O'Neil and a lot of the players. If Strachen comes in, he will need access to that gold pot or Celtic face a trophyless next few seasons with Rangers only strengthening their squad. Murray has already promised to back Rangers push for European Sucess.

None the less the next few weeks will be very important, and if Celtic bugger up the Scottish Cup later this week, well it could be a very interesting season.

And yes Hibees r the r0x, some sex players but as always Rangers are buying them to strengthen our sub's bench. HELLO IAN MURRAY^^
