oh no lie, it was terrible, but as a newbie, i think any kinda "old style" uo was good...where you could run around naked and pvp or pvm the best creatures in the land if you were skilled...

i dont see how any newb could like uo now, how can you get into it, i reckon even hardcore, to have an average pvp suit, ud have to play osi 24/7 for 6months-year to even get an average suit.

:?

I don't think it's that hard these days. I came back recently to UO for a little while, reactivated my old second account which I had stripped down and closed while we were playing on drachs. It had about 100k spread between all chars, no gear at all. nothing worth selling and so on. It took me about 2 weeks to make a set with something like 35 LMC 6MR 15 SDI 35 DCI and 2/6, which was actually better than the set I was using before I quit last time.

Yeah what Coli said really. It's quite easy to make an ok suit, they've released a lot of average mini-artifact type things. It's just you have an ok suit, but other people have all max mods + 75% enhance potions and 50 hpi, all in a 100% lrc suit.

I'll tell you that I am not the sort of person who gets easily riled up all the time, but the stupidity and lack of foresight, or complete lack of regard to the players shown by the dev team when they introduce almost any new skill or item really gets me worked up. For example the enhance pots 75% thing which is clearly going to make a huge difference to pvp. WHY?

Like when they made artifacts with properties not naturally found on that item type allowing people to get things like fc4, all the things that were balanced with p25 2 years after release and anyone with half a brain could see they were going to need balancing within 5 minutes of the AoS release. It just really frustrates me that having made that error so many times they are going to do the same thing AGAIN with the next damn expansion, instead of fixing UO to make it playable again.

Merc does have a point in that it's one thing for me or carix or any of us to come and say "I can make 10mil in a week" or whatever, but we've been playing this game for too many years and know it inside-out. If UO:KR actually attracts complete newbs, the prospect of having to earn multiple millions to get to a competitive level is surely daunting.

Same goes for anyone wanting to host any, just make an account and create an album.
I think I'm up like 8 terrabytes a month bandwidth now. For the same $15 cost.
I've tons from Legacy, don't have so much of the glory I-C days since I've lost a ton, but i'll try rake out all my uo pics and upload them somewhere if I can ever be assed sorting them.

While I appreciate the candid description of your inflatable doll, we were in fact talking about freeshards :(

Villa, that was below even your usual comedy standards.
