English countryside

Was just reading this article and brought me onto something I find myself thinking about more and more:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/airlines/stor ... 48,00.html
I've abused cheap foreign flights in the past, so obviously i'm a total fucking hypocrite, but seriously, we're building over everything, already you can travel from South London to the Northernmost part of Hemel Hempstead without seeing a single piece of countryside if you take the right route. That's fucking scary, and we're not stopping. I know it's neccesary to provide enough houses, it just makes me sad that there's going to be absolutely no countryside remaining soon, at least in the south east.

What's scarier still is that various studies have shown we don't even need this many extra houses and that many would sit empty if not for our friends the illegal immigrants who eventually get naturalised anyway.

its all pads fault, he is a merciless lumberjack that despises nature in all forms and will not rest until hes chopped it all down with his bare hands.

I would be sad, but the British countryside is already fucked up by farms and roads, there is nothing worth worrying about anymore because there is nothing beautiful in this country now. It's unlikely they will be building over mountains or the valleys in the Yorkshire Dales anyway so there will always be something left...
I'm much more concerned with the ever decreasing rainforests in India, there will be no elephants or tigers left at all there soon.

Oh agreed, it's just that this was what was on my mind at the time.
