Couple of Questions -

Firstly, Im in need of a new keyboard, I currently use -
I like the, er, I guess the best way to describe them in "non stick out keys", I was thinking of simply getting this keyboard again, at £20 I cant complain, however I thought i'd ask around, see if anything should be top of my list. I dont want wireless stuff, kthx.
Seconadly -
I know we're all playing something, be it some of us holding onto UO, or others in WoW, or even a few in EVE. However, I got very nostalgic today (fucking worst) and remembered back when i'd get up saturday mornings, make a cup of tea and logg into UO, check Brit Bank (none of this Luna pish), check my guild house (cos you know, people hung out there) and then try and gather a party to either go pillage and steal our hearts out, set sail to find some AFK macroerers, or actually do some dungeon crawling (back when it was semi fun). So anyway, I came to the thought, are any of us (you?) REALLY gonna play an MMO again? I know that we've all moved on in more ways than one, work, life and such has taken a priority, however I do miss the feel of community that was in UO, as hobbies go, the MMO expierence was great.
So, we all know Villa is waiting on Darkfall, and no doubt will be still in 5 years, but what about the rest of you? Personally ive been looking at WAR, but I must admit ive never read up MUCH on it, I poked my head over to the old Emerald Knights page last night, they have sadly no archived UO posts, but still play WoW, with alot of them looking at Age of Conan. With so many MMO's coming out (Which I disagree with, however I understand why its happening) is there any that you think "Wow, i think we'll all play that?".
*shrug*
Just some thoughts before I go to work, store move for the lose..

Well to be honest with the popularity of WoW the typecast is set, all MMOG for the foreseeable future will stay along the same lines of Crafting, Quests and consentual PvP and all the fucking items which to me is gay.
I dont know much about warhammer but from what i have read itll be instanced PvP with objectives to win with the grand aim of capturing hte capital. gone (sadly) are the days when you can just go out and randomly kill people, pubbies whine (a LOT) and they are the majority so they are listened and catered too.
Its a sad state of affairs.
ive lost track really its more of a rant post. i shall however try most of the bigger MMOG and give them a whirl, but i doubt there will be another game out for a long time that doesnt break this mould the 9+ million subscribers and the huge revenues generetad make it a perfect cash cow, so why change it.
I cant currently see any particular one coming out that we will all go wow thats so different and play it but i hope there is one at some stage.

The "cash cow" point is key, Real Time Worlds, creators of Crackdown on the 360, are making "APB - All Points Bulletin", one of the guys at work had an interview for a programming job with them, where they admitted that APB was a cash cow for other projects.
I honestly think something different will be a bigger cash cow, Sony's "The Agency" is a good example, although looks shit. Its targetted at casucal MMOers, but sadly, it dosent seem to understand the appeal of MMO's. For me anyway, MMO is an escape, its a way to just relax and do something else, an MMO is in reality an interacive book, one that not only draws you into the story, but you ARE the story.
I signed up to the MMORPG.com newsletter ages ago, but got disheartended when every email I got was about some "NEW MMO ANNOUNCED", I dont want 50+ medicore options, I want 1 good one.

Waiting on darkfall too, but..... not overly optimistic about when it will come.
I figured if theres no df beta date by the release of warhammer, I might try that. Read a tiny bit about it and it sounds okay.

We'll probably be trying out AoC, followed by WAR.

To be honest, I think the future of online gaming for most people that have to work fulltime = rts or fps or consoles:/
I'd love to have the time to put into a new mmo but can't see it. If Darkfall is as good as 'expected' and has long term appeal I guess that could change things, otherwise I don't see it.
Oh and for similar money this keyboard completely pisses on that horrible thing you've been using:

Or if you've got a bit more to spend:

g11 is actually the better keyboard now they've cut out most of the extra keys on the new g15.

Lets have best rl meet in Glasgow or Edinburgh and pk in pubz.
Playing WoW, and still mad addicted. Will probably try WAR when it comes out. Dunno about AoC, haven't read a great deal about it, but probably a dexer game, which would stop me playing.

So you recomend the first one or the g11 Calix?
They seem to have STICKY OUT KEYS, im sure I could adapt again though, I saw this one too, any thoughts -

Comes with connections to plug my mic into, which isent a neccesity as I have these ports on the front of my tower, however it seems nice.
@ Nix - Yes, RL meet in Ed would be the swing, i'd pk you first tho, sorry
@ Points Raised - I think you're right, online gaming is really leaning back towards FPS and RTS, which is a shame, dont get me wrong, I really enjoy CoD4 on my 360, and CSS on the PC, there great to play. But I really enjoyed the idea of building a character and in a sense a reputation to go with.
I think ill play WAR when it comes out, at least to see what its like, it has a June 1st release date, although I can perhaps seeing it being pushed back, which would be good as fingers crossed I should be in AMERIKA June 1st.
Nox go make us a new MMO and let us play it.
kthx.

Agree 100% really.
As regargs Keyboard, I use g11, mainly becouse of the 18 extra 'g' keys. To be honest though UO is about the only game i've needed them for.
Eclipse II is probably better value, both keyboards 'feel' quality though.
Oh and g11 and g15 both have 2x USB 1.1 ports on them, not sure about eclipse

G keys are awesome for anything that requires key combinations.
I use them a lot in applications as well as games, mainly because I play SMART PPL games that look more like appliations.
