Home Cinema System

I am likely to be buying a new TV soon.
I can't figure out what constitutes a decent home cinema sound system, so need some help.
The TV is going to be a Samsung LE40a656, which I gather has fairly crap sound.
Will also be buying a PS3 and won't have any other dvd player if that helps.
The sound system doesn't have to be particularly loud or feature loaded. Just something that will enhance my viewing pleasure.
Please recommend something.
Thanks.

Two choices really, seperates which means more money but also better quality, more expandability etc or all in ones which do the job and are pretty cheap, but are very very limited both in terms of connectivity and expandability.
I've spent £1500 (speakers and amp) in the past 2 years on seperates and still haven't finished building my system, it gets pretty expensive. I still need to get a sub and a matching centre speaker, using a fairly decent KEF atm but it's the wrong colour.
Obviously all depends on budget and how much you want to connect.

Sounds more complicated than I thought.
All I want is something that will project surround sound around the room.
Presumably 4 speakers and 1 bass unit or something? and an amp or whatever.

Ok if it sounds complicated buy something like this:

Even IT experts should be able to work this one out.

Thanks.
Still seems fairly complex for a bunch of speakers and an amp though.
Price seems reasonable, so I'll make a note of this product.

You can do it nice and cheaply even with seperates Villa. My system was done on a mad budget, but still sounds fucking elite, and I can't even go to half the volume it's capable of without shaking the whole house.
I have this amp:
http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct ... AMA-RXV361
Which is about as cheap as you can get, but does the job np.
Just got a mixture of old and new speakers. My centre speaker is salvaged from an old early 90s hi-fi system that I had in the loft, and it sounds fine..Others all picked up off ebay for fuck all.
Don't have a sub at all, it's stupidly loud even without.
Have tv, dvd player, 360, pc and an old vhs player all connected to it.

The wires running back to the sofa ended up in the roof but it is a bit messy behind the stand ! Home cinema = lots of wires
