New Years Resolutions

What are your New Years resolutions?

I'm going back to uni to do an MA in September so I have resolved to budget better as I have to put most of my paycheck into savings until then. This means I'll have to cut back on spending frivolously, take my own lunch to work, etc.

I've also resolved to maintain a fitness regime that incorporates 5 hours boxing/muay thai a week, 3 sessions in the gym, and Sunday league football/training. Boxing will be the most challenging part of this as I go straight from work (and some days will find myself dissuaded by fatigue, the cold and so on).

I also want to read more as I'm quite dilletantish at the moment and sometimes will just come home and spend the whole evening browsing the net or whatever, which is bad because I'll need to be in good mental shape when I start my MA!

What are your resolutions?

I need to lose my chrismtas chub.

So, ive set a target of dropping a stone and a half by Graduation day - Ill do this by going back to Kickboxing twice a week and fives once a week.

Also I wanna get a 2:1 (or better obv) so the next few months of uni will see my turn into a hermit, but its only a few months so why not?

stop being such an achiever!

I never really make 'resolutions' as such, but there are things I'd like to achieve/do over the next year.

1 - Secure a good job & move to London - progress being made

2 - Go fishing more often

3 - Keep in touch with more of my friends more often, which might prove difficult when considering #1

4 - Learn more german, I was doing pretty well but haven't done anything for 3 weeks ish

5 - Spend at least a 2 week period travelling alone

Personally I think most new years resolutions are a pile of shit; if you have to wait until new year to make a start on these things, you probably don't have the willpower to keep them up!

That said, it works for some people I suppose, so whatever

Not really one for new years resolutions... Saving up for a summer holiday somewhere hot would be nice though.

like it came from my own mind lol, i feel exactly the same, kinda an excuse for 90% of people to invent something they think would be good and make a semi half assed effort at doing and give up before feb!

Whilst I acknowledge that this is the case for most people (i.e obese people who plan to lose weight every year or giving up smoking) it is also a good opportunity to clarify existing goals and give them some solidity.
