Hi guysh.

Recently been doing a group blog with some friends (some of you might know Yorda, from WoW) on Japanese life and just interesting things in Japan.

I do the occasional essay but it's not all the time, lots of pictures and stuff like that which you may (or may not find interesting).

Eitherway, if you're bored it could kill some time.

After checking your blog-link, I guess that you're still in Japan.
All optimistic thoughts in that blog aside, following the news here (which cant be that worse than those in Japan with this crap floating informations), it sounds really more like regarding the final result, that the dices are actually in the process of beeing thrown.

I really hope that we/you wont get a 2nd Tchernobyl there - but if I were you, I would have packed my stuff already days ago and would have made anything possible to get away.
Call me a coward (here you will for sure be right) - but relying on 40 years old technology, while we all completely upgrade our PC each 4-8 years, just doesnt make sense and seems to be pretty retarded.

Wishing us all the best possible ...

Second Chernobyl, lol

The actual retardedness is the press' utter shit and patently untrue headlines - I saw one the other day saying "HOLE IN THE REACTOR!!!!1 - and the willingness of the general public to believe them blindly.

Do a little research if you're interested; there's basically no danger at all, and the events following the tsunami are arguably a success story for the design of the plant.

This is actually why I'm gonna spend the money to come to your wedding. Thanks for having a brain.

I was going to rant about it and summarise what's happened so far, and why it shows the plants in such a positive light as I'm annoyed by the press and general reaction from people (which to be fair is based on the information we're fed); but then I realised I couldn't be bothered.

The press in the UK have been an absolute joke throughout all of this, the reaction in Germany as well re: Nuclear stations

Shitty shitty situation, but it's actually incredible how well the Japanese are handling it all. A little bit of snow and this country falls to pieces, nevermind 2 major disasters.

Here's a nice summary article by a writer at MIT.

Something a little more sensible to read.

I enjoyed this comment at the bottom:
Unfortunately we live in an "anti-science" age, where everyone believes their views are as valid as everyone else's. At a time when a large minority of the population no longer believes in the theory of evolution, it will be difficult to reassure many people that they are safe from a nuclear plant meltdown.
Entirely true and pretty depressing :(

Edit: this is also generally interesting: http://mitnse.com/
