I've no idea why this free server is getting such a following but it has groups of players from asia waiting for it to open.
Seems to be quite a bit of hype about it?
I think I remember something in the past about IPY being the first and only server officially shut down by OSI/EA or whoever was in charge at the time.

I expect it'll be very good, if I wasn't already committed to UOSA I'd try it out. Has to be question marks over it's longevity though. afaik it wasn't shut down by OSI, if I remember rightly the shard just ate itself with 95% wolf player base..
Would love to be proved wrong though!

Yup. Definitely questions about its longevity and the new systems in it, how they will fare out etc.
I dunno what shard was shutdown by OSI then, lol. (Wasnt there one?)
I definitely did hear about the majority of players being wolfs and thats all that was left. I was reading Azeroths blog too. He seems to understand all of the things now that led to its downfall before, so it will be interesting to see.

It'll be very interesting to see how it goes.
At present there's only two successful 'freeshards' as far as I'm aware? UOSA and Hybrid.

i just got an email from defiance, all there new updates still sounded shite, although i got a good laugh at the fact they are doing 9th year vet rewards

haha Defiance. They probably have a dungeon called 'Paypal' by now.
IPY2 has some great stuff. Paladins/'Kings'(stupid name)/Pirates. Improved ROT makes sense for skill gain as well.
