but does anyone have even the slightest connection remaining with any old devs, gm's etc? It would be awesome to get their input, perhaps not just yet, but a month or 2 down the line when we have more resource and progress.

I do, but it's really not worth exploring. I'd put more stock in my own abilities than I would theirs these days.

It's nothing to do with abilities, maybe not even ideas. It's the prestige from a marketing perspective.
