Actaully, that looks like the head slot. In the top pic, the glasses are in the top/hat box, and the next picture has one of the kasa type hats in teh same box. It looks as though the glasses are just special headwear that cannot be used in conjunction with other headwear items (Hat of the magi, spirit of the totem, Kasa of the Rai-jin, etc).

Great work by the marketiing department on this one, They're available through a budget store for "gold" budget game price yet include a free in game bonus such as the advanced character.
It is so clearly not an attempt to (as implied) attract new customers, you simply don't attract new customers by giving them an advanced char.. would you really buy any other game where you can put in your Cd-Key to win?
It's another teet on the shrivled cash cow, but because advanced characters sell for $30 normally, many niave current players will fork out on several copies and take a long hard suck of that teet. It's yet another way to cram that last cent out of the game from the people who have kept alive so long.

It honestly makes me sick.
